Toyota Ranks High For SUV Fuel Efficiency
SUVs of Today = A New Image of Better Fuel Efficiency
SUVs, of the past, are known for not only their utility, room, and power, but also for their poor fuel economy. But the SUV market of today actually has some reasonably fuel efficient models to offer. By considering combined EPA mileage rating (the average of city and highway mpg), the most fuel efficient 2009 SUVs were determined. Two Toyota models made it into the top ten. The 2009 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, with and EPA fuel economy of 27/25 mpg came in as the fifth most fuel efficient SUV/Crossover. It has an MSRP of $32,089 - $37,630. The 2009 Toyota RAV4, with a fuel economy of 22/28 mpg tied with the Ford Escape and Mazda Tribute to round out the top ten. The Toyota RAV4 has an MSRP of $20,609 - $26,094.
